Day 25: heralding spring at Chelsea Physic Garden

Daily details from the garden to bring you inspiration throughout the year

A marker at the beginning of the gardening year, tomorrow Chelsea Physic Garden throws open its doors to mark the transition of one season to the next. Spring always arrives a little early in this part of the capital, the walled garden surrounded by tall buildings on three sides possessing its own unique micro-climate, sheltered, and warmer than the surrounding streets and the river embankment. Heralding Spring runs from 26 January to 3 February – go along for snowdrops, kokedama making, and guided tours.
