Day 43: greenhouse repairs

Daily details from the garden to bring you inspiration throughout the year

The wind howls through the gaps in the greenhouse, reminding me that the structure needs some attention before it can be a useful space again (the rain-soaked surface of the potting bench mutters something similar). February’s the time for this kind of malarky, replacing broken glazing, fitting new clips or window moldings to hold the panes in place. Or diving into your neighbours’ skips to rescue discarded windows, any of which can, with a little ingenuity, be fashioned into a cold frame for hardening off seedlings.
