Day 64: lawn edging

Daily details from the garden to bring you inspiration throughout the year

There is nothing in the garden quite like edging, and edging a lawn in particular. I’m not for a moment arguing it can hold a candle to a gazing upon a rose in bud, or running your hand across the tactile bark of a tree, or watching dew drop run along a leaf’s midrib – that would be bonkers. But in terms of something you can do to make you feel like you’re regaining a little control of your rampant patch of wilderness, no single task has quite the same bang for your buck at almost any time of year, but never more so than now. Go on, have a go – and if you haven’t got your own lawn, go and do it on someone else’s.
