Day 150: a magnificent geranium

Daily details from the garden to bring you inspiration throughout the year

The garden is breaking out in violet and mauve; first the alliums ('Purple Sensation' out of the blocks way before the larger christophii), picked up and amplified by the hardy Geranium x magnificum – a tad late this year but better late than never. Oddly, I have no recollection of how this plant arrived – it certainly wasn't here when we came, but I can't recall buying it or receiving it as a gift. It's provenance is academic, at this time of year, it's the most wonderful thing.
